Florida Domestic Violence Education Requirements
Under Florida Statute §741.281, courts may order a minimum 26-week Batterers' Intervention Program (BIP) for DV convictions. However, courts also order shorter DV awareness education for lesser offenses, protective order conditions, and pre-trial diversion programs.
Florida §741.28 defines domestic violence broadly, including assault, battery, stalking, and other criminal offenses between family or household members. §741.2901 establishes special procedures for DV cases.
